Armed Forces Veterans and Underserved Youth

The Soaring Eagle Foundation serves veterans and youth who might not otherwise have the resources to prepare for their FAA Glider Pilot license, or just want to experience soaring.
Each two-day Flight Academy consists of a half-day classroom session spent discussing and reviewing aerodynamics, weather and glider flying procedures. Students and FAA-approved instructors then fly for the rest of that day and the following day.
Thanks to the support of our generous partners, we’re able to offer Flight Academy at no cost to the individuals we serve. If a student elects to continue toward an FAA Glider Pilot license, training costs are shared.
