Armed Forces Veterans

The Soaring Eagle Foundation serves wounded and physically disabled veterans who wish to prepare for their FAA Glider Pilot license or just want to experience soaring.

Each two-day Flight Academy consists of a half-day classroom session spent discussing and reviewing aerodynamics, weather and glider flying procedures. Students and FAA-approved instructors then fly for the rest of that day and the following day.

Thanks to the support of our generous partners, we’re able to offer Flight Academy at no cost to veterans. If a veteran elects to continue toward an FAA Glider Pilot license, training costs are shared.
